Gear Design Bureau

RDV66 – Expertise and Reliability in Gear Design

We are a gear design bureau and a small‑series manufacturing shop with more than 40 years of experience. We design proper gear meshes, develop tools for their production, manufacture prototypes, and produce small batches.

About Us

We are a gear design bureau with more than 40 years of experience, as well as an experienced manufacturing workshop.

Examples of Our Work

Products

1. Design of gear‑cutting tools for gear machining. Worm cutters, finger and disk cutters, gear shapers (for generating processes), shavers,
chamfering heads, Roto‑Flo rolling racks, broaches and punches.
2. Computational and design development of durable and low‑noise cylindrical gears.
3. Computational and design development of bevel gears with circular tooth form using Gleason‑type geometry.
4. Development of geometry for differential pairs, harmonic drives, screw drives, face couplings, worm gears, rack‑and‑pinion gears, sprockets
(including those for silent plate chains), timing pulleys (for belt drives), spline joints, gerotors and trochoidal mechanisms (oil pumps and motors).
5. Restoration of geometric parameters of gear meshes (gears and shafts) in the absence of documentation.
6. Manufacture of gear‑cutting tools to order: broaches, punches, worm cutters, gear shapers, shavers.
7. Manufacture of gears for silent plate chains, gerotor gears (motors, pumps), spline hubs and shafts.

Our Work

Example 1

Initial data: clutch disc hub without drawings.

Task: manufacture a hub with external gearing identical to the sample. Modify the internal spline for another gearbox type.

Example — hub

Work performed: decoding the hub geometry, creating drawings, creating a 3D model, manufacturing a prototype using EDM. Creating the cutter drawing for cutting external teeth, manufacturing the cutter.

Cutter

Spline design, broach drawing creation, broach manufacturing, heat‑treatment correction.

Example 2

Initial data: Volkswagen gearbox. Task: design an additional gear that reverses the torque direction.

Example 3 – Limited-Slip Differentials

Limited-slip differentials, both worm-type and clutch-type. We design and manufacture units for any type of vehicle. They are intended to improve vehicle performance in extreme conditions such as sand, ice, snow, mud, and off-road environments.

At present, limited-slip differentials have been developed and are available for the following vehicles:

Chevrolet Opel Daewoo Suzuki Grand Vitara
Peugeot Ford Mazda Renault
Toyota Subaru Volvo VAZ-21106
Chevrolet Captiva Great Wall Hover For worm-type limited-slip differentials, different engagement response speeds and locking coefficients can be preset.
